Grading
Our goal at Calaveritas Pinmaking is to always try get the best pins in your hands. While we wish all pin batches were perfect, that is unfortunately not always the case. Please see below for our grading policy.
A Grade/Standard grade:
They are the closest to perfection you could get. They still might have surface scratches that are inevitable due to the handmade process of pin making. Flaws are only visible from an angle turned to light or magnified to see flaws usually light scuffs or minor under filled enamel areas. The minor flaws may exhibit specks of paint, glitter, effects, minor dings/dents on enamel/plating, screenprint details, pin pricks, and enamel cutout.
B Grade/Flaws:
May exhibit noticeable flaws of the type mentioned above and but not restricted to larger imperfections and /or small imperfections visible from front view (usually small scratches, fingerprint only seen at an angle, pin pricks, deep under filled enamel, air bubbles, incorrect color placement, stray paint/ glitter specs, major dings/dents on enamel/plating, and many screen print errors).
C Grade/Major Flaws:
These are major flawed and have deep scratches, missing metal, or missing enamel.
Please note - metal chipping of the side or the back of the pin metal a flaw is not considered a flaw I also do not consider any lines shown by tilting your pin or applying light to show any polishing lines. This appear as minor scratches. This is a normal part of the manufacturing process.
